Welcome to The Quiet Ground

“Therefore I say: sink from your something into your nothing, and so return to the ground from which you are born.” — Meister Eckhart

Thank you for being here. The Quiet Ground is a simple place to pause. Nothing to chase. Nothing to fix. Just a steady reminder to soften the grip and let the body find its own way home.

My teacher, John Butler, often demonstrates meditation by slowly opening his closed palms. The hands unclench. The arms release their effort. We notice the ground for the first time that day. The ground receives us.

That small gesture says everything.

We practise not by adding more, but by allowing what is already here to be felt.

What to expect
Short notes on stillness and the body. One small practice you can try. Occasional reflections from the treatment room. No noise. No urgency. You can read these in a minute or two, then get on with your day.

A first practice
Sit or stand. Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly. On your next exhale, let both palms soften as if opening to the floor. Do nothing more. Notice what changes when you stop helping.

Thank you for trusting me with your attention. May these notes leave you a little quieter, a little more grounded, and a little more yourself.

With care,
Manos
